Generation Women – Number 3

Generation Women is a cross-generational storytelling night in New York City. Each month, five women of note read an original piece on a theme. Of those women, one is in her 20s, her 30s, her 40s, her 50s, and her 60s+. Our August show’s theme is: Nevertheless, I Persisted: stories of resistance in the face of persistance.
Team 20: Jasmyn Lawson is the Culture Editor at GIPHY where she is focused on making GIFs as diverse and inclusive as possible in order to reflect the world we all live in.
Team 30: Jonterri Gadson is a poet, professor and comedy writer who was selected for the NBC Late Night Writers Workshop. Her debut poetry collection, Blues Triumphant, is out now through YesYes Books.
Team 40: Host of The Sharon Spell Show podcast, Sharon Spellhas appeared on truTV’s Adam Ruins Everything, the Moth Mainstage, UCB, and The Tank where her solo show “You’re Doing Great,” sold out last year.
Team 50: Laura Catherine Brown’s second novel, Made By Maryis forthcoming with C&R Press in the spring 2018. Her first novel, Quickening, published by Random House, was featured in Barnes & Noble’s Discover Great New Writer series.
Team 60: Pamela Redmond Satran is the NYT bestselling author of the novel Younger, the basis for the TV show, and the cocreator of the website Nameberry. A mother and grandmother, Satran recently moved to LA where she is writing a new novel and launching a China-based business.
Doors at 7pm, show at 7.30pm.
