New Arts Residency: Ziemba

We are thrilled to welcome musician, composer, performer and perfumer René Kladzyk to the Wythe Cinema on Wednesday, April 30th for a multi-sensory soirée. Under the moniker Ziemba, René creates stunning visual, auditory, and olfactory landscapes. Her new full-length album, ARDIS, is a feminist sci-fi adventure and multisensory experiment. It will be released sequentially throughout the spring and summer of 2019. For one night, a portal to Ardis will open at Wythe Hotel and give you glimpse into this world with the premier of visual song Lips 2 Lips; a collaborative creation of Ziemba, Colleen Marie Foley, Bad Taste, BCALLA, and more.

About the Artist:
In March of 2019 René was most recently music artist-in-residence at Pioneer Works. She has toured throughout the United States and internationally, has held artistic residencies with Guerilla Science, and the French Institute in Fez, Morocco; as well as performed widely at music and art spaces in New York City, including: MoMA Ps1, La Mama, National Sawdust, Fourth Arts Block/ Creative Time, Issue Project Room, Knockdown Center, Queens Museum, the Museum of Art and Design, and more. She has composed original music for Comedy Central’s Broad City, Cocoon Central Dance Team’s film “Snowy Bing Bongs Across the North Star Combat Zone,” Fusion’s “Shade: Queens of NYC,” and more. She writes about culture, music, and U.S./Mexico border issues for publications including Teen Vogue, i-D, Listen to This, and Ravelin Magazine. She sometimes leads the NYC iteration of Colin Self’s experimental vocal group, Xhoir.
